Mr. Swain has performed the roles of Antonio in Le Nozze di Figaro, Dr. Gregg in Gallantry, Vogelsang in Der Schauspieldirektor, and Bob in The Old Maid and the Thief at the Louisiana College Opera Theater.  He also performed the role of The Grinch in Seussical the Musical at Theater Louisiana College.  Most recently, Mr. Swain appeared as The Pilot in Rachel Portman’s The Little Prince with the Lamont Opera Theater and he also made his European premiere singing Papageno in Die Zauberflöte at Berlin Opernfest in Berlin, Germany.

In addition to stage experience, Mr. Swain has performed numerous times in concert. In 2014, Mr. Swain joined Seicento Baroque Ensemble.  He performed multiple concerts as a chorus member including the Western Hemisphere premiere of Michel Richard de Lalande’s Dies Irae. Mr. Swain was also featured as a soloist in a madrigal concert presenting works by Adriano Banchieri.  He was a soloist and founding member of SoundCity Singers of Seattle, WA in 2019.  Mr. Swain was set to appear with SoundCity Singers for several engagements throughout 2020, including a performance with Kamala Sankaram at the Opera America 50th Anniversary conference, but these were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2023, Mr. Swain sang as the soloist in Ralph Vaughn Williams’ Five Mystical Songs.

Upcoming engagements include Demetrius in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream with Lamont Opera Theater and Count Almaviva in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro with Prague Summer Nights and Berlin Opernfest.
